James E. “Guinea” Bridges, age 65, of Forest City, NC, died October 23, 2012 at the Hospice House.
James was born December 9, 1946 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Vernon Bridges and Vernie Dycus Bridges. He worked in the auto sales industry as a transporter for many years. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Geraldine Bridges, Corine Ellington, Edene Towery, Joyce Greene, Darlene Crowe and one brother, Johnny Steve Bridges.
Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Owens Gilsoul of Charleston, SC; one grandson, Caleb Owens of Charleston; one brother, William Bridges and wife, Joyce of Shelby and one sister in-law, June Bridges of Rock Hill, SC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Walls Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
