James Franklin "Jamie" Allen, 91, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, at Wendover Hospice in Shelby, North Carolina. Born on October 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Carl Elbert Allen and Blanche Moss Allen.

In addition to his parents, Jamie was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Virginia Ramsey Allen; his brother, Billy Gene Allen; and his sister-in-law, Betty Allen.

Jamie spent his working career as a maintenance mechanic. He worked for Monsanto Company for 18 years before continuing his career with Parker Hannifin, where he retired at the age of 60.

Jamie enjoyed a full and active retirement. He loved to travel, spending time in his garden, and was an avid reader. He took pride in staying busy and loved watching golf, and actively played basketball well into his later life and was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his sister, Carlene Allen Enfinger and her husband, Phil; stepdaughter, Tracy Kiser, many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.

Jamie and Shirley will be laid to rest together at Grover City Cemetery.
