James (Jim) David O'Brien

James (Jim) David O'Brien, 87, born to John and Myrtle Norman O'Brien passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Carolina Heathcare Center Main, Charlotte.

He was a member of Union Baptist Church. Jim was one of the founders of the Upper Cleveland Rescue and a charter member. He was a member of the Lawndale Masonic Lodge #486 and the owner of O'Brien Vinyl Siding and Windows. Jim was the former owner of the L & J Snack Bar.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Joey Franklin O'Brien; 1st wife, Betty Sweezy O'Brien; 2nd wife, Joyce Cash O'Brien; 3rd wife, Betty Pearson O'Brien and a brother, John O'Brien.

He is survived by Pansy Heavner companion of 15 years; son, Mike O'Brien and wife, Rita of Lawndale; three stepdaughters, Lisa Burleson and husband, Shane of Kings Mountain, Kathy Flowers and husband, Scotty of Bessemer City and Patty Cash of Kings Mountain; three stepsons, Scott Church and wife, Dana of Polkville, Bill Pearson of Forest City and Ronnie Pearson and wife, Sissy of Shelby; Pansy's sons, Jerry and Danny Heavner; grandchildren, Logan, Justin, Jessica, Glenn, Shannon and Stewart and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Jim will lie in repose on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home

A graveside service will be 2:00 PM on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Knob Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Shumate.
