James "Jim" Edward Teddy

SHELBY-James "Jim" Edward Teddy, 87, died Friday, July 14, 2017, at Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Roy F. and Lucille Auten Tiddy. He was a lifelong member of Shelby Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon, Sunday School Treasure and worked in the food ministry. He was a quiet man with a big heart. Jim served in the National Guard for 9 years, retired from Shelby Printing and also worked with Westmoreland Printing after his retirement.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy F. Teddy Jr., Junius Auten Teddy; and sister, Betty T. Moore

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Grace Wix Teddy, of the home; son, James E. Teddy and wife Cynthia G. Teddy of Shelby; daughter, Susan A. Teddy of Concord; sister, Barbara Elliott and husband Jean of Fallston; and grandchildren, Brennan E. Teddy of Clemson, Spencer and Meredith Teddy of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends following the service, in the Ellis Hall of the church.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Sunday, at Shelby Presbyterian Church

OFFICIATING: Dr. Luke Harkey will officiate

BURIAL: A private family burial will be held Monday in Sunset Cemetery

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shelby Presbyterian Church, 226 E. Graham St., Shelby, NC 28150
