James “Jimbo” Odell
  James “Jimbo” Odell, age 60, of Hawthorne Lane, Forest City, NC, died Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

     Jimbo was born September 24, 1952 in Providence County, Rhode Island to Charles Thomas Odell and Janie Guffey Odell.  He was a truck driver for many years and was of the Baptist faith.  He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed reading but mostly enjoyed being with his family.  He was known for his sense of humor.

     He was preceded in death by his mother and one daughter, Jessie Mae Odell.

     In addition to his father, survivors include two daughters, Crystal Bristol of Hudson, NC and Cari-April Singleton and husband, Anthony of Anderson, SC; two granddaughters, Amber Odell and Peyton Singleton and one grandson, Dallas Bristol.  He is also survived by four brothers, Kenneth Odell, Donald Odell and wife, Lorene, Tommy Odell and wife, Helen, Joe G. Odell and wife, Judy all of Forest City; two sisters, Brenda Lane and husband, Rodney of Henrietta and Tracy Hudgins and husband, Garry of Rutherfordton.

     Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Leon Brown and Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. 

     In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Shriners Burn Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL  33607.
