James Kim Parr of Shelby, North Carolina passed away on October 24th at the age of 77, following many years of dementia.

Born September 23, 1946, he was the son of the late Marvin J. Parr and Natalie Fiedler Parr.

Originally from East Norwich, Long Island, Jim met his high school sweetheart and wife, Jean (Pat) Settlocker Parr, at Oyster Bay High. Jim will be remembered as a loving and engaged husband, father, grandfather and friend. His passion for the sporting life, animal advocacy, fishing and botany was always evident.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years; brother, John Parr; daughter, Amy Parr Cilmi; son-in-law, John Cilmi; grandchildren, Addison Parr Cilmi, Blake Wood Cilmi and Mason Fiedler Cilmi.
