James Manson Camp, age 86, died Friday, July 28, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County on June 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Lonzo "Bank" Manson and Elsie Elizabeth Morgan Camp. James was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was the owner of Shelby Auto Electric, where he served customers for 52 years. James enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Edna Hastings Camp; a brother, Maurice Camp; and a great grandchild, Braiden Beck.
James is survived by a son, Brian Camp and wife Shana of Shelby; two daughters, Candy Glover and husband Danny and Vickie Beck and husband Jack all of Shelby; seven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Brackeen officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 30, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
