James Michael "Mike" Mauney, 64, of Casar, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Born in Cleveland County on December 6, 1957, he was a son of the late James Presley Mauney and Frances Chapman Mauney. He was employed by Freightliner Custom Chassis and was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Brenda Hamby Mauney; three aunts, Ann Williams of Shelby, Sue Mauney of Shelby and Margaret Chapman of Casar; sister-in-law, Audrey Hamby; brother-in-law, Phillip Hamby and wife Faye; niece, Jeanna Cook and husband Randy and their children, Cassidy Patton and husband David, Maggie Cook and Bonnie Cook; nephew Jeremy Hamby and wife Jenna and their daughter Kash and many loving cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. James Wedgeworth, Rev. Mike Sepaugh and Rev. Randy Cook officiating. The casket will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

The burial will follow the service in the Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
