SHELBY: James "Mike" Huntsinger, 68, died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his home.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Willard "Bill" and Betty McKee Huntsinger. Mike graduated Shelby High School in 1971, served in the US Airforce, and retired from UPS after 32 years of service.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, and had a love for fishing, golfing and having breakfast with his UPS friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Vicky Lacasse Huntsinger of the home; son, Jason Huntsinger and girlfriend, Jennifer Edwards of Shelby; sister, Amy Atkins and husband Kenneth of Lawndale; brothers, Doug Huntsinger and wife Nicki of Elgin, SC and Todd Huntsinger of Kings Mountain; granddaughter, Sydney McCraw of Shelby; sister-in-law, Shelly and Donny Wesson of Shelby; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ted Easter officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church or Hospice of Cleveland County. It is recommended that face masks and social distancing be honored while inside the facility.
