James "Scott" Minnick, 57 of Kings Mountain, NC passed away on Sunday, April 9th, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby. He was born on the 18th of May in 1965 in Silver Spring, Maryland and was the son of James H. Minnick III and wife Edith Mae Kesecker both of whom preceded him in death. Scott is survived by his wife of 29 years, Libby Minnick of Kings Mountain, two sisters; Laurie and husband Rodney Heflin of Cherryville, Linda and husband Steve Duncan of Maiden, four brothers; Vince Minnick of Kings Mountain, Steve Minnick and wife Jenny of Laurinburg, Hunter Minnick and wife Donna of Alabama, and Jimmy Minnick and wife Susan of Georgia, one daughter, Ann and husband Chad Johnson, one son, Chris Chambers, four grandchildren; Tiffany Waddell (Amy Pearson), Christina "Christy" Waddell (Matthew Sickles), Emily Ledford (Josh Ledford) and Sage Absher (USMC) , three great-grandchildren; Connor Clucas, Waylon Clucas and Madi Grace Ledford, and his Best Friend of many years, Shannon Sikes. Scott worked as a machinist for about 30 years at Jack E. Reynolds Machine in Bessemer City, NC. He loved spending time with family and taking spontaneous trips to the North Carolina mountains with his wife, Libby. A Private service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023.
