James W. "Bill" VanDyke age 68 resident of Kings Mountain, NC entered into eternal peace in the early morning on April 12, 2016 at Carolina's Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. He was born in Cleveland Co. NC to the late James Robert VanDyke and Inez Whetstine VanDyke. Mr. VanDyke was a former employee of Duke Power Co. and a General Contractor for 25 years. He retired from Cleveland County Schools. He attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and was an avid golfer, fisherman and an exceptional craftsman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and always filled the room with a joyous contagious laugh.

Son: Billy Dean VanDyke and wife Tonya, Kings Mtn. NC

Brothers: Bobby VanDyke and wife Darlene, Gastonia, NC

Jimmy VanDyke, Grover, NC

Sister: Wanda VanDyke White and husband Bruce, Kings Mtn. NC

Sheila VanDyke Wilson and husband Marion, Kings Mtn. NC

7 Grandchildren: Brandon Hendricks, Joshua Hendricks, Elizabeth Dahl, Zackery Saldo, Meridith Wyte, Morgan VanDyke and Ryan VanDyke.

2 Great Grandchildren: Mason James Hendricks and soon expecting, Carsen Rhyne Hendricks.
