James Willis, age 75, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Atrium Health-Lincoln.

Born in Rutherford County on August 23, 1945, Mr. Willis' favorite pastimes included watching cowboys on TV and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents John Henry Willis and Flora Silvers Willis. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Willis; and a daughter, Lynn Hayes.

Mr. Willis is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rebecca Willis; as well as daughters Debra Mincey of Shelby, NC, Robin and Ronnie Webb of Maiden, NC, Vicki and Brian Cobb, Linda Willis Ivie, and Sandy Fitzgerald, all of Shelby, NC. He is also survived by one sister, Ann Ellis of Shelby, NC, as well as 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great, grandchildren.

A service will be held at a later date at Sandy Run Baptist Church.
