Jane Annis Campbell Kiser

Jane Annis Campbell Kiser, 68, passed away on October 10, 2026 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby. Born on November 12, 1957, in Greenwood, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late C. Jennings Campbell and Matoka Morrison Campbell of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Kiser and her brother, Ross Campbell.

She had a zest for life and a heart that welcomed everyone. Never one to meet a stranger, Jane had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. She loved animals, music, and dancing, and especially enjoyed traveling and discovering new places with her special friend, Carl Kutz.

A 1976 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, Jane went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1980. Following her graduation, she opened her own dance studio, The Dance Academy, in Kings Mountain. For 22 years, she shared her passion for dance with countless students, inspiring them through the love of music and movement.

After having her two beautiful daughters, Jane embarked on a new chapter in her professional career. She returned to school and earned her Physical Therapist Assistant Certificate from Central Piedmont Community College in 2011. She devoted herself to helping others through her work as a physical therapist assistant until illness prevented her from continuing.

Jane is survived by her two daughters, Maria Jane Ledbetter, husband Luke, and Meleena Kiser; her sister, Jennifer Campbell Drohan, and her husband, Mike, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor Jane's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Rit Varriale officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.
