Jane Wesley Bowling Norman, 90, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at Hospice Wendover in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on January 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Hiram W. Bowling and Frances Putnam Bowling. In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her brothers, Max P. Bowling, Michael E. Bowling, Sr., John Thomas Bowling and Francis (Frank) O. Bowling.

Jane was a graduate of Shelby High School Class of 1950. She was a long time member of Lafayette Street Church of Shelby and a lifelong member of United Methodist Women. Jane was employed over 60 years with CSR as an Insurance Agent and retired from Maxwell B. Hamrick Insurance Agency.

Jane is survived by her husband of 70 years, Billy R. Norman, her son, John Christopher Norman and his wife Charlotte, a grandson, Garrett Connor and his wife Jessica and her great grandchildren, Hayden, Colton and Scout Connor. Also left to cherish her memory, her sister-in-law, Ruby H. Bowling and Sue Lail Bowling.

A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Monday, September 19, 2022 at Lafayette Street Church with Rev. Kathy Houser officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm - 3:00pm prior to the service in the Church sanctuary. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Cemetery.
