Janet Elizabeth Munday Stroud, 86 of Shelby, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby.

Born in Wilkes County, NC on January 1, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John Ralph Munday and Mary Mertie Hollar Munday. Mrs. Stroud was a homemaker and member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Randall Stroud; grandson, Kyle Stroud; a sister, Rachel Bolick and three brothers, Ray, Maynard and Johnny Munday.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Stroud and wife, Tammy of Fallston and Neil Stroud and wife, Myra of Grover; four grandchildren, Katie Chapman (Jimmy), Kristopher Stroud (Ashley), Kelly Nunns (Kevin) and Jessica Stroud; great-grandchildren and two sisters, Martha Jarrells of Shelby and Thresa Lewis of Texas.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the graveside service.
