Janet Spangler Eckard, 72, of Kings Mountain, NC passed away Saturday evening, December 10, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

Born in Shelby, NC on September 12, 1950, she was the youngest daughter of the late Jerome and Ethel Spangler of Grover, NC.

She graduated from Kings Mountain High School in 1968. Janet worked in banking and later found her niche in healthcare. Her tenacity and perseverance along with her expertise was instrumental in the success of several businesses.

Janet was a wonderful seamstress and was often called upon to help family and friends with clothing, curtains, and the occasional repair of a stuffed animal.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Harold Ellis.

Janet is survived by her son, Michael Eckard and wife, Lori of Kings Mountain and her daughter Amanda Blake, and husband Chris of Shelby; her stepdaughter, Paula Harmon and husband Chip of Shelby; her grandchildren Mylin Eckard, Ryan Blake, Paige Blake, and Kaitlyn, Georgia, Olivia, Caroline, and Nicholas Moss, and Adeline Harmon, sisters, Sandra Ellis of Kings Mountain and Abigail Tant and husband, Steve of Zebulon, half-sister, Jerry Thornburg of Cherryville, nephew, Alan Ellis and wife Jaclyn, niece, Amy Allen and husband, David. She is also survived by great-grand daughter, Paisley Blake, great nieces and nephews, David Ray, Michael and Katie Allen, Aydan Cable, Masyn and Westyn Ellis.

The family will receive friends at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home on Friday, December 16th from 1:00 PM - 2:00PM with a Graveside Service to follow beginning at 3:00 PM at Grover Cemetery, Bethlehem Church Road, Grover, NC.
