Janice DeLane Casey Sale

Dr. Janice DeLane Casey Sale, age 72 of Shelby, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, May 29, 2015 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Carroll Page. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Enrichment Center. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dr. Larry Sale of the home, a daughter, Kelly S. Bridges and husband Brett of Boiling Springs, NC, a son, Lowell W. Sale and wife Anne of Boiling Springs, NC, two grandsons, Matt Bridges and Patrick Sale, a twin sister, Janet Moody of Elkin, NC, and a nephew, Rusty Moody and wife Wendy and their son Josh of Virginia Beach, VA.
Born January 12, 1943 in Elkin, NC, Dr. Sale was the daughter of the late William Russell and Irene (Day) Casey. Dr. Sale graduated from East Wilkes High School in Ronda, NC. She later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Gardner-Webb University, a Master's Degree from Western Carolina University, and a Doctorate of Education from the University of South Carolina. She earned certification in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Dr. Sale began her professional career at Central School in Kings Mountain and served as a teacher at West Cleveland School, Boiling Springs Elementary School, and Springmore Elementary School. She was an assistant principal at Boiling Springs Elementary School, Crest Middle School, and Fallston Elementary School.
In addition to her experience in Cleveland County, she served as a teacher at Windsor Hill Elementary School in Charleston, South Carolina. Jan was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and she especially enjoyed singing in the church choir.
The family expresses appreciation to Hospice of Cleveland County, and a very special thanks to Mrs. Ann Duncan of Helping Hands, Inc.
