Janice Ross Davis

Janice Ross Davis earned her crown on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Atrium Health. Shelby, NC. She was born October 12, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY to Robert and Helen Ross.

She was a 1979 graduate of Shelby High School. She retired on July 16, 2021 from ABB formerly Reliance after 37 years of service.

Jeanette as she was affectionately called was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed shopping with her family, especially the Black Friday weekend. She also looked forward to the annual beach trips with her crew. Sitting on her back porch, rocking was a daily occurrence. Her smile was infectious, as it lit up every room she entered.

She was always concerned about the less fortunate, making certain that she participated in the Angel Tree and providing for others. Family to her was everything!

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Annie Lee Ross, a brother, Stephen Ross, and a stepsister, Eleanor Lee.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and supportive husband of 39 years, Andre Davis; to this union two daughters were born; Mrs. Amy Hamilton (Chadwick) and Emily Davis, both of Shelby, NC. her sister, Angela Jeter of Shelby, five grandchildren, Taylor, Chadwick and Teegan Hamilton and Journi and Blake Herring; a special niece who was like a daughter, Nadia Ross Hopper and a special nephew, Larry Dean Jeter, II; other nieces, LaGentry and Alexus Ross, Keyon, Kellsey and Aliyah Davis and Tammicka Hoey; other nephews Jayron Barrow and Marrio Camp; great nieces, Jazmine and Janasha Jeter, Kyla Hopper, Kylie Wilson, Emma Thompson and Ka'Ron Barrow; great nephews, Larry Dean Jeter, III, Malacki Jeter and Jaydon Davis; two great great nephews, Braylen Hopper and Kanan Ketchens; a sister in-Law, Peggy Ross, two brothers-in-law, Wayne Davis ( Cassandra) and Bertram Davis; two God daughters, Jalisa Perry and Meagan Barber and a host of other relatives and friends.
