Janis Worthy Greene, 65, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Spartanburg County she was the daughter of the late Bill and Dot Worthy. She was also preceded in death by her brother Chris Worthy. Janis worked as a travel agent most of her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and adored spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Janis is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Nick Greene; daughter Nicole Greene Baynard of Shelby; two grandchildren, Drew and Morgan Baynard; brother, Kevin Worthy of Shelby; and several extended family members.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 25, 2012 in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church. The Rev. Craig Langston will be officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. At other times the family will be at the home.
