Jasper Gene Perkins, age 68, born August 17, 1953 in Cleveland County, NC to Johnny and Emma Mae Parks Perkins departed this life on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his residence in Shelby, NC.

He was a member of New Providence Full Gospel Church in Crouse, NC. He enjoyed playing basketball, bowling and grass cutting. He was a funny, caring and loving person who was full of life and jokes until his health started declining in 2003.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wessley, A.V. and Calvin Perkins; one sister, "Emma" Eloise Perkins; one nephew, Adrian Brooks and two brothers-in-law, Apostle Eugene Brooks and Ronnie L. Dukes.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Brenda Perkins; a daughter, Shena Petty (Lance); one sister, Kathy Perkins; three paternal grandchildren, Dontavius Brooks, Nykia Petty and O'Mya Smith; five sisters-in-law, Joyce McSwain (Thomas) and Teresa Dukes both of Shelby, Juanita Brice (Rodney) of Gastonia, NC, Janice Miller, Pearl Wilson (Ryan) both of Shelby and Angela Brooks of Buffalo, NY; three brothers-in-law, John Steve Brooks of Kings Mountain, NC, Thomas Brooks (Wendy) and Kevin Brooks (Shanna) both of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Perkins will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 3:30 PM at New Providence Full Gospel Church, 947 George Brown Road Crouse, NC 28033. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM on Saturday, January 1, 2022. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com.
