Jasper Warren Gamble, Jr. 68, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday February 5, 2023 at Atrium Healthcare in Shelby, surrounded by his family.

Born on October 22, 1954, he was the son of the late Jasper Warren Gamble, Sr. and Susan Aileen Jones Gamble. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Kathy Porter Gamble. Bill was an active member of Northside Baptist Church, of which he loved dearly.

Bill graduated from Shelby High School and was an avid supporter of the athletic programs. He attended Wofford College and earned an MBA at Gardner Webb University. As the longtime owner and operator of Gambles Gulf and Gambles Amoco in Shelby, his business allowed him to create long lasting relationships and connections with the community he knew and loved. Bill will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Natalie Gamble of Shelby, a son Justin Gamble of Shelby and his two grandchildren Malachi Gamble and McKenna Gamble. Also left to cherish his memory is his sister Susan Ellis (David), sister-in-laws Judy Allen (Kevin), Brinda Haynes (Jonny) and Linda Murray (Larry), as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 6:00PM - 7:30PM at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Friday February 10, 2023 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Neal Efird.
