Jay C. Sisk, age 85, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.

Jay was born Sunday, April 4, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Lee Sisk and Fannie Connor Sisk. He worked for General Fireproofing and Spindale Mills for several years and was a self-employed carpenter/electrician. Jay was a member of Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed all types of woodworking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Sisk, Linda Walker, Edith Toney and four brothers, Junior, Carl, Harvey and Eugene Sisk.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Janice Sisk of Forest City, Lisa Pitman (Danny) of Ellenboro; two brothers, Herman Sisk (Sonya), Jerry Sisk (Barbara) and a sister, Margaret Lovelace all of Forest City. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Trevor Pitman (Jessie), Daniel Pitman (Kali), Brandy Raudales (Jordan), Kaleb Barnes and three great-grandchildren, Kayelyn, Devin and Tyler Pitman.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Timmy Hodge and Reverend Colby Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Social distancing and masks are required.
