Jean Dyer Boone, age 84, of Forest City, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.
Jean was born Saturday, March 15, 1941 in Rutherford County to the late Governor Dyer and Cordie Walker Womick. She worked as an inspector for A & E Plastic Manufacturing for twenty-one years. Jean also attended Harmon Street Baptist Church when health permitted. She loved listening to the Gaither's sing about the Lord. Jean enjoyed going on trips to the beach and to the mountains.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Don Womick; a son, Landon Boone and granddaughter, Crystal Boone.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Sandra Carroll of Grover, NC; son Alan Boone of Bostic; grandchildren, Kayla Parise (Jonathan), Amy Boone Landon Boone and Christopher Nanney (Brandi); great grandchildren, Jaron, Zachary, Nevaeh, Channing, Briggston, Alexis and Alyssa.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be conducted.
