Jean Yancey Elliott, 86, of Beam Street, Fallston, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cherryville.

Born in Lincoln County, NC on December 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Cleo Sloan Elliott and Blanche Mae Hudgins Elliott. Jean was a member of Fallston Baptist Church, Shelby Amateur Radio Club, the Beekeepers Association and a charter member of Fallston Fire Department. He served in the US Army. Jean worked at Stamey Stores until they closed and retired from Copeland.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara Tiddy Elliott; a daughter, Jeanie Elmore of Fallston; two grandchildren, Elliott Newton and wife, Tonya and Carrie Timms and husband, Joshua and five great-grandchildren, Austin Newton, Cash Timms, Ellie Timms, Aaliyah Sain and Trevor Watts.

Mr. Elliott will lie in state on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 4:00 pm at Fallston Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Blanton officiating. The family will be at his home on Friday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, for anyone who would like to stop by.
