Jefferson Elementary School Great American Cleanup Project
Teacher, Robin Tench and the Jefferson Elementary Second Graders.
Keep Shelby Beautiful says “A BIG THANK YOU” to the Jefferson Elementary second graders who participated in a recent Great American Cleanup event. The twenty-two students spent a Friday afternoon cleaning the yards and school grounds at Jefferson Elementary. They collected about 100 pounds of trash, yard waste and recyclables. Thanks to their efforts, students and staff are able to enjoy clean school grounds on these beautiful spring days.
The importance of educating young people about the environment is undeniable. Participating in a “Campus Cleanup” enhances environmental education as well as developing pride in the community. Congratulations to the Jefferson Elementary second graders on their efforts to keep Shelby beautiful.
