With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeffery Taylor Hewitt, of Shelby and Hickory, NC. Taylor passed away on July 19, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Banker's House, 319 North Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC 28150.

Jeffery "Taylor" Hewitt was born on July 18, 1990, to Jeff and Patty Hewitt. At age 12, he courageously battled and survived osteosarcoma. He spent much of his career in the food service industry and had a deep love of music, playing in several bands over the years.

Taylor is survived by his parents, Jeff Hewitt and Patty Mellon Hewitt; his brother Tyler Hewitt and partner Kellie Ward; and his nephew, Elliott Hewitt.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Randall and Margie Hewitt and JD and Ruth Mellon, as well as his uncles, Mike Mellon and Steve Hewitt.
