Jerry Ann Goforth Gantt
Jerry Ann Goforth Gantt died peacefully at Hospice Cleveland County Wendover facility on Monday, April 8, 2013.  She was born July 13, 1936 in Shelby, NC daughter of the late Gerald B. Goforth and the late Bessie Goforth Smith. 

Jerry is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ronald M. Gantt of Carillon; three children, Rhonda G. Moore (Jack) of Shelby, Marc Gantt (Darlene) of Cherryville, and Becky G. Keesler (Dru) of Pawley's Island, SC; six grandchildren, Meghan K. Budde (Anthony) of Dyersburg, TN, J. Lewis Moore of Charleston, SC, Lindsey Moore (fiancé Wilson Raynor) of Greenville, NC, Lacy Keesler of Mt. Pleasant, Sc, Kendra Barger (Nelson) of Vale, NC and Bobby Helms (Christi) of Orangeburg, Fl; three great grandchildren, Aiden and Lillian Budde of TN and Cameron Helms of FL; sister, Linda G. Estridge of Bethune, SC; niece Christa Ballington of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Peggy Gantt; numerous nephews and nieces.

Jerry graduated from Shelby High School and worked for many years with Ronnie at Nationwide Insurance.  She was a long time and faithful member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout leader, Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and was a Stephen Minister.  For many years she helped with the restoration of the Shelby Carousel.  She was also a member and past president of American Business Women's Association.

Most people will remember Jerry for her kindness and her willingness to listen patiently.  She was a loving, loyal and supportive mother and grandmother.  Her life was full of dedication to her family and friends.  She was a devoted caregiver to the love of her life, Ronnie.

The family would like to thank the excellent caregivers at Carillon in Shelby, and are grateful for the special care she received at Hospice Cleveland County Wendover facility.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10th at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1207 W. Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC, 28150.
