Jerry Dale Scism, 74, of Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at home.

Born in Cleveland County on June 22, 1947, he was a son of the late C.L. Scism and Nell Shytle Scism. He was retired from Advance Truss and was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Scism also served in the US Army during Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Sigmon.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Debra Jane Wagner Scism; two sons, Timothy Scism and wife Jennifer of Shelby and Chris Worley and wife Karen of Conover; one daughter, Wendy Auten of Mooresboro; one brother, Forest Scism and wife Vickie of Lawndale; three sisters, Gale Elmore and husband Don of Waco, Sheila Beam and husband Larry of Lawndale and Madge Jones and husband Allen of Mooresboro; six grandchildren, Krista Goins, Sydney Worley and fiance Josh Rouse, Katie Huffstetler and husband Cody, Lauren Scism, Corban Worley and Braelynn Franklin; three bonus grandchildren, Oliver Secrest, Madison Lunceford and Kaila Roberts; three great grandchildren, Oaklyn, Alana and Keylanna and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Anthony Grove Baptist Church.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Bean and Rev. Ken Faulkenbury officiating.

Burial will be private.
