Jerry Dean Ruppe Jr., age 58, died Monday, January 29, 1960 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Cleveland County on June 9, 1960 he was the son of Jerry Dean Ruppe Sr. of Shelby and the late Sandra Kay Hollifield Ruppe. Dean was a manager at Kemet for 17 years. In addition to his mother, Dean is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbur Hollifield and O. B. and Irene Ruppe.

In addition to his father, Jerry Ruppe, Dean is survived by his grandmother, Faye Hollifield of Shelby; a brother, David Ruppe and wife Donna of Shelby; two nieces, a nephew and numerous great nephews; his extended family also includes loving aunts, uncles, and several cousins.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
