Jerry Flay Bridges, 80, of Crestview Drive in Shelby, passed away Saturday
January 27, 2018 at Testa Hospice House.

Born September 24, 1937 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Willie
Bridges and Nicie Wilson Bridges. He was retired from Baldor and was a
member of Blessed Way Baptist Church in Lawndale. He also served in the US
AirForce during Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by on son-in-law, Tony
Anthony; five brothers, Gene Bridges, Jack Bridges, Johnny Bridges, Don
Bridges and Jim Bridges; three sisters, Ethel Morrison, Helen Bivins and
Juanita Anderson.

Survivors include his wife of thirty one years, Shirley McSwain Bridges;
four daughters, Becki Anthony, Karen Toole and husband Jamey, Sharen Givens
and husband Tim and Krickett Blacichnik and husband Charles; grandchildren,
Ashley Bridges McMurry, Renee Bridges, Jeremy Givens, Allie Givens, Anthony
Rogers, Kristen Engelman, Kadi Brown, Josh Bowman, Jay Toole, Morgan Rodgers
and Brandon Rodgers; great grandchildren, Silas McMurry, Charlie McMurry,
Stella Fortenberry, Emma Fortenberry, Ace Brown, Gaby Engelman, Myleigh
Bowman and Corbin Bowman.

The visitation will be 7:00 PM until 8:30PM Monday at Stamey-Tysinger
Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be 2:00PM Tuesday at Blessed Way Baptist Church
with Rev. Tommy Cook officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
