SHELBY: Jerry Roger Hamrick, 74, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Atrium Health-CMC. He was the son of the late Paul & Doris Jones Hamrick of Shelby. He was a member of Bethel Baptist and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Lanny Hamrick and sister, Loretta Allen.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Adams Hamrick, of the home; daughters Sandra Brittain and husband Brad of Lawndale and Carla Canipe and husband Jeff of Cherryville; grandchildren, Jennifer Brittain, Jason Brittain and fiancé Ashley and Hunter Canipe; great grandchild Brylan Brittain; brother Sherrill Hamrick; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with Dr. Tim Sims officiating. The family will receive friends 1:30-3pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 606 S.
