Jerry White, Sr., age 74, of Bostic, died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at his residence.
Born September 9, 1941 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late P.G. White, Sr. and Grace Condrey White. He was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1959 and a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Jerry worked for Spindale Mills and Cone Mills-Florence Plant for many years. He enjoyed farming and doing outside work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine White; two brothers, P.G. White, Jr. and Jimmy Ray White.
Survivors include one daughter, LaDonna Earwood and husband, James of Valdese; three sons, Jerry White, Jr. of Morganton, Kevin S. White and wife, Shelly of Cary and Jon White also of Morganton; one sister, Josephine White and sister-in-law, Joyce White Greene both of Forest City. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Zach White, Andrew Earwood and wife, Megan, Kourtney White, Kristen Earwood, Sarah White, Kali White, Brayden White, Addison White and Sawyer White.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kevin White and Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family.
