Jesse C. Hendrix, age 77, of Mooresboro, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Jesse was born Monday, March 19, 1945, in Rutherford County to the late Viola Hendrix Dixon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Mount Katmai during the Vietnam War. He worked as an insurance agent for Liberty Life for thirty-five years. Jesse enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of the "Prisoners of Love" Gospel singing group.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Floyd Dixon and a brother, Donnie Dixon.

Left to cherish fond memories are his life companion, Janice Henson Hendrix; sons, Eric Hendrix (Stephanie) of the Hopewell Community and Brian Hendrix of Mooresboro; sister, Carlon Bailey of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Brianna Hendrix, Cody Hendrix-Rhodes, Dakota Hendrix, Madison Hendrix-Rhodes, Dalton Hendrix and a great-granddaughter, Everly Rose Hendrix.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Brian Nelon officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
