Jewel Lena Daves Canipe

Jewel Lena Daves Canipe, 90, of Casar, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on January 5, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Coy Clingman Daves and Essie Elizabeth Wiggins Daves. She was a retired seamstress. Jewel was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church where she had forty-four years of perfect attendance. She began serving as a Sunday school teacher in 1955. She also taught Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir.

Her life was a testimony to all of those who knew and loved her. She was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt and friend. She devoted herself to her church, family and friends. Jewel will be sadly missed. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved her.. Our loss is heaven's gain.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Eugene Canipe; five brothers, Paul C. Daves, Robert "Bob" L. Daves, Floyd F. Daves, Zane Daves, and Charles "Bud" M. Daves; and three sisters Virginia D. Gantt, Marie D. Norman and Bell D. Brown.

She is survived by two sisters, Ann D Faggart of Concord and Gilda D. Hunt and husband Steve of Polkville and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pisgah Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Pisgah Baptist Church with Pastor Spencer Martin and Rev. Jeff Faggart officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
