Jimmie Richards, 66, left this world suddenly on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his home.

Preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Tanner Richards; sister, Debra Peterson; brother, Doug Richards.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Richards Parker (Jenny); previous spouse, Norma Richards (Lawndale); son-in-law, David Parker; three grandchildren, Adriene, Bryanna and Kody (Polkville); sister, Barbara Ann Richards (Shelby); niece, Kimberly Richards (Hickory); Jamie Schrader (Kings Mountain), and Christie Ayers (Shelby); nephew, Timothy Richards (Casar); loving companion, Becky Jones (Shelby); along with many other family members and friends.

Jimmie had a passion for cars and was gifted with an ability to fix any issue. His passion included drag cars, building motors, and classic cars. He shares many stories of times from Shady Side and Shuffle Town. He loved his small town and the many relationships built throughout the years. Jimmie's hobbies included his love for lawn work, especially cutting grass. He also assisted his companion with screen printing, and ensuring day to day tasks ran smoothly. More often you could find him outside, riding the lawnmower with a smile on his face. He was eager to talk to anyone about his passion and hobbies, and never turned away from a good conversation. He was a loving Father and Grandfather and always carried a smile on his face when talking about his daughter and grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to express how proud he was. His smiling face, love for cars, and many lessons taught are just a few of the legacies that he leaves behind.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held in Jimmie's honor on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1227 Mt. Sinai Church Road, Shelby NC 28152.. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM with services to follow immediately after.
