Jimmy Dean Camp

SHELBY: Jimmy Dean Camp, was born on July 7, 1957, in Cleveland County. He departed this life on April 18, 2025, in the same beloved county of his birth, having lived 67 years.
Raised within the close-knit community of Cleveland County, Jimmy was a devoted member and Deacon at New Camp Creek Baptist Church. His faith and service were cornerstones of his life, providing him with strength and purpose.
Preceded in death by his parents, Earsel & Willie Mae Mellon Camp and his brother Jerry Camp, Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love and enduring friendships. He is survived by his brother, Douglas Perry Camp, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who cherished their time with him. Among the many heartened by his presence, he shared a special friendship with
Sherry Martin, a companion of many years.
A man of deep faith and abiding kindness, Jimmy will be remembered for the warmth he brought into the lives of those he touched. While his absence leaves a void, his spirit endures in the hearts of his family and friends.
Services to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain. Reverend John Bridges will officiate the service, commemorating Jimmy's life and faith.
