Jimmy James Waldrop, 82, of 128 Forest Morrison Road, Lawndale, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

 

Born May 18, 1930 in Swain County, he was a son of the late Harley Dewey Waldrop, Sr. and Lillie Mae Anderson Waldrop.  He was retired from Hickory White Furniture and was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church.

 

The family wishes to extend their heart felt love and gratefulness to all the Staff at Wendover Hospice Cleveland County and nurses, Shellie Youngblood and Wanda Johnson.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jessie Iver Tallent Waldrop; sister, Ruth Waldrop, brother, Johnny Waldrop; two half brothers Harley D. Waldrop, Jr. and Dewey Roger Waldrop.

 

Jim left many loved ones behind including his children, two sons, David Waldrop and wife, Sandra and Joe Waldrop; three daughters, Peggy Shook, Kathy Lemmons and husband, Ray, and Janet Lynn; half brother, Lester R. Waldrop, Sr. and half sister, Brenda Joyce W. Russell; nine grandchildren, two step-grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday at  Stamey Funeral Home,Fallston.

 

Funeral Service: Home Going Service 4:00 PM, Tuesday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston

 

Officiating: Revs. Kenneth Bryant, Hansel Bryant and Terrill Crump

 

Burial: Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery

 

Memorials: Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150
