Mr. Jimmy Lee Elmore, 79, of 2555 Shoal Creek Church Road, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Wendover Hospice House, Shelby, NC. Born in Shelby, NC, he was the son of the late Johnny Russell and Naomi Schenck and Cleveland and Ada Lou Elmore.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Sherwood Marable and Devon Marable; brothers in law, RL Watson, Jr. and Samuel Eskridge; and sisters in law, Mattie Lathers and Adele Ruff.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Virginia Elmore, of the home; son, Jimmy Elmore, Jr. (Barbara); daughter, Heidi Michelle Elmore; four grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Jeffrey Elmore, Jarel Elmore, and Courtney Elmore; great grandchildren, Braelynn Smith and Brandon Smith, Jr.; brother, Riley Watson (Flossie); sister in law, Helena Marable; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. Burial took place at the church cemetery.
