Jimmy Morton, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at White Oak Manor of Shelby.

Born in Inman, SC on Oct 9, 1940, he was the son of the late Algie Morton and Josie Morton Sawyer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Morton and brothers Bobby and Fred Morton.

Jimmy bravely served three years in the United States Army. He was a devoted member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, as well as the founder and owner of Vision Boutique. Jimmy also served as a licensed optician for over thirty years.

Jimmy is survived by his sister Elaine Huntley, sons Tony Morton (Margaret) and Terry Morton. Also, his grandchildren, Kylie Sherwood, Cassie Peeler, Paige Mask, Brittany, Kimberly and Michael Morton. His memory will also be survived by his six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Rit Varriale officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
