CASAR - Joe Harrison McFarland "Joe Cool", age 63, a native of Cleveland County, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Atrium - Cleveland surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late William Plato and Mary Aileen Brackett McFarland in Shelby.

"Little Joe" leaves behind to cherish his memories his longtime companion and friend, Shirley Holland of Casar; daughter, Candice Rome (Ernie) of Casar; son, Nathan McFarland (Kristina) of Hickory; daughter, Destiny McFarland of California; four grandchildren, Natalia McFarland, Connor McFarland, Emma Rome and Lily Rome.

For most of his life, "Joe Cool" worked at Deviney Lumber in Casar. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Nascar Racing and most of all spending time with his family and loved ones. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Robert Morgan Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC, 132 East College Avenue, Shelby, NC 28152. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
