Joe Willard Smith, 85, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at his home.

Born in Burke County, on March 15, 1936, he was the son of the late John Pinkney Smith and Ella Buff Smith. He was retired from the Western-Carolina Center where he worked in maintenance. Joe was also a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Casar.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four brothers, Alvin Smith, John Henry Smith, Franklin Smith and Ace Smith and Seven sisters, Sudie Falls, Lucy Lail, Iva Cook, Florence Cook, Annie Maude Towery, Mae Swink, Helen Smith and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife Leeattle Moses Smith; son Randy Smith and wife Rita of Connelly Springs; two grandchildren, Michael Smith and wife Tabatha and Miranda Wright and husband Kenneth all of Connelly Springs; three great grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Madelyn Smith and Kennedy wright; and two brothers, Howard B. Smith, and Reid Smith all of Connelly Springs.

The family will receive friends on Monday form 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Fulbright officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
