John Austin Pruett, 86, of Pruett Road, Casar, passed away Sunday, April 16,
2017 at Peak Resources in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on March 10, 1931, to the late Noah William Pruett
and Mamie Elizabeth Hunt Pruett. He was a retired dairy farmer and member
of Pisgah Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, James David
Pruett; brother, Eugene Pruett; and sister, Ann Warlick.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Elinor "Toby" Robinson Pruett; two
daughters and son-in-law, Vickie and Danny Shull of Shelby and Susan Pruett
of Shelby; sister, Eunice Williams of Roselle, IL; three grandsons, Derek
Reeves, Dustin Reeves and wife, Maison, and Austin Shull; and a great
granddaughter, Allie Reeves.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 11:00 AM
to 12:00 PM, Noon, at Pisgah Baptist Church, Casar.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 12:00 PM, Noon, at Pisgah
Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Kerstetter and Rev. Tommy Cook
officiating.

The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
