John Charles Ward was born May 17, 1943, in Lawndale, NC to the late Frank and Helen Wray Ward.

He departed this life May 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Lucille Williamson, Rosa Padgett, Willie Frank Ward, Cleo Hambright, Ruth M. Ward, Annie Ward, George Thomas Ward, and Eddie Ward.
He is survived by his loving wife Daisy Ward of 59 years, his children: Reginald Charles Ward (Sharon), Kenneth Lamont Ward, Tonya Yvette Ward, and Timothy Darnell Ward (Shamika), all of Shelby, NC. He is also survivedby his siblings Shirley Fuller (James), Shelby, NC, Jacquelyn Guest (Benjamin), Charlotte, NC and James Ward, Cary, NC; his sisters-in-law Reatha Ward (Eddie), Lois Pullen (Ben), and Phyllis Coates (George) and his brothers-in-law Lewis Coates (Maxine) and Gene Vinson (Annie).
He was blessed with twelve grandchildren: Kristopher Ward (T'keya), Micah Burgess, Reginald Ward II, Jeremiah McClain, Julian Roberts, Laila Ward, Elijah Carrington, Taniya Ward, Donovan Ward, Timothy Ward Jr., Chase Mack, Chasity Mack and two great-grandchildren: Creedance Mack and Caistance Mack.
Services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Enloe Mortuary in Shelby, NC. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Condolences can be expressed online at enloemortuary.com. Enloe mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
