John Clayton "J.C." Willis, age 83 of Cherryville, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Atrium Health, Lincoln. He was born August 21, 1935 in Cleveland County to the late Burgin Jacob and Bertha Cook Willis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Hollar Willis; brothers, Garry, Dwight, and David Willis; and sisters, Annie Ferrell, Velma Hartsoe, Ruth Ledbetter, and Kay Taylor.

Survivors include his sisters, Inez Willis, Hazel Hartsoe, Virgie Heavner, Judy Gales, and Brenda Cook. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30PM Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at North Brook Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bob Wise officiating.

His family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to his service at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Service, Cherryville.
