Lexington, SC - Mr. John David "Satch" Beam, Jr., 65, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

David was born on August 23, 1955 in Cleveland County, NC a son of Jean Aderholdt Beam of Cherryville, NC and the late John David Beam, Sr. He was a 1973 graduate of Cherryville High School and attended Catawba Valley Technical Institute. He was a terminal manager for Custom Commodities Transport of Columbia, SC. David was a member of the Cherryville New Year Shooter and served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by an infant sister and a brother, Curtis Lee Beam.

Survivors include his wife of eight years, Helen Jernigan Beam of the home; mother, Jean Aderholdt Beam of Cherryville; a daughter, Amanda B. Warren of West Columbia, SC; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Dozier of Lexington, SC and Stephanie Powell Takoma Park, Maryland; a brother, Allen B. Beam of Cherryville; seven grandchildren, Liam Warren, Emma Warren, Powell Anne Dozier, Trace Dozier, Arden Dozier, Mary Ellis Dozier and Harper Chandler.

David will lie in state from 1:00PM - 4:00PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home. The family will not be present during this time.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating.

Military Honors will be provided by Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor Guard.
