John Franklin Ballenger, age 63 of Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jackie Jones Ballenger of the home, his two children, Jamie Ballenger of Lattimore, NC, and Alex Ballenger and wife Amanda of Mooresboro, NC, three grandchildren, Jase Ballenger, Hartlie Ballenger, and Noah Jaxx Ballenger, and two sisters, Ginny Harris and husband Alan of New Bern, NC, and Katherine Carpenter and husband Jonathan of Gastonia, NC.

Born December 15, 1960, in Greenville, SC, John was the son of the late Frank and Betty Jo Boyd Ballenger and was preceded in death by his in-laws, Jack and Dolly Jones, and a sister, Pamela Jo Ballenger.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather "Pop", brother, and friend to many. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
