John "Jack" Breen, age 83, died Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Patterson NJ, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Klepper Breen. Jack was a member of Shelby Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, choir member and Sunday school teacher. He was in the United States Air Force for four years. Jack worked in customer service for Dover Mills where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a professionally trained Tenor since the age of 18, and sang at the majority of his family's weddings and funerals. He was an active member of the Cleveland County Choral Society, and President and Treasurer of his HOA. Jack enjoyed singing and painting. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Troast.

Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Susan DuBois Breen; two sons, Stephen Breen and wife Diane of Youngsville and Mark Breen and wife Amy of Lawndale; a daughter, Donna Faries and husband Craig of Mooresboro; six grandchildren, Danielle Breen, Amanda White, Kendra Virtue, Anthony Faries, Avery and Sarah Breen; three great grandchildren, Bohannon and Bobby Virtue and Isabella White; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lou DuBois and wife Judy Highland NY; two nieces and a nephew, Michelle Woodruff, Daniel DuBois, and Karilyn Sommers; and other loving nephews

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of Shelby Presbyterian Church with Dr. Luke Harkey officiating. A gathering of friends will follow the service in the Ellis Hall. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. A family burial will be held in New Jersey at Fairlawn Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
