John Ralph Harrison

John Ralph Harrison, 88 of Kings Mountain, NC, departed on his new journey on January 26, 2018 at Robin Johnson House, Dallas, NC. Born in Gaston Co, NC, he was son of the late William Edward Harrison and Sue Faries Harrison. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Edna Champion Harrison; sisters Doris Harrison Lazenby and Grace Harrison Gregory. Ralph was a machinist at his own machine shop and a US Army Veteran. He was an active member of the masons where he was a certified lecturer for over 50 years. He recently received the Diamond Jubilee Award for 60 years of masonic service in NC. He was a past master of Fairview Lodge #339. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of First Baptist Church in KIngs Mountain.

SURVIVORS: Nephews: Jody Champion and wife Alison, Kings Mountain; Mark Champion and wife Tina, Kings Mountain. Great Nephews: Austin and Hunter Champion; Great Nieces: Chelsea and Tiffani Champion; Great-great nephew, Landon Champion; Sisters: Nancy H. Smith, Rock Hill SC; Jane H. Carson, Columbia SC; Sister In Law: Judy Medlin Champion Monroe NC; Betty Greene (Emmett) Kings Mountain NC; Special Neighbors: Glen and Audrey Cody, Kings Mountain NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, January 29, 2018, 3:00, First Baptist Church, with Dr. John Sloan officiating.

VISITATION: 1:30 - 2:30 PM prior to the service in the Stained Glass Room of First Baptist Church

INTERNMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC with masonic last rites and full military honors provided by The Foothills Marine Corp League.
