John T. Carpenter, 82 of Fallston Road, Lawndale passed on Friday, November 22, 2024 at White Oak Manor.

Born February 13, 1942 in Cleveland County to the late Howard Vincent Carpenter and Rachel Elizabeth Thomas Carpenter. John was owner and operator of C &S Furniture Store and NASE Insurance Agent for thirty years and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a member of the Chevy's Underglass Corvette Club. John spent summers with his family going to his parents house on Lake Wylie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Taffy Harry Carpenter; two brothers, Vincent Carpenter and Bill Carpenter and a sister, Linda Triplett.


Survivors include his three sons, Scott Carpenter and Deaver Carpenter both of Shelby and Chris Carpenter and wife, Shelby of Kernersville; daughter, Kim Bivins and husband Ray of Lawndale; sister, Frankie Carpenter of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Ashley Earl, Aaron Carpenter, Alexa Shull (Will), Christian Carpenter (Kaetryn), Alesha Maltba (Ethan), Chandler Carpenter and Savannah Carpenter and six great-grandchildren.



Services will be private and held at a later date.
