John W. (Bud) Greene, age 76 died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Hospice, Rutherford County. Born in Cleveland County on March 7, 1941, he was the son of the late G.C. and Ruth Winn Greene. He was, also, preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Winn Greene.

John was a US Army veteran with a tour in Vietnam. He was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Bob Abrams Sunday School class. He retired from PPG after 38 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dr. Barbara Bridges Greene; son, Jeff Greene and wife, Mandi; three grandchildren, Dessie, Eli, and Nathan all of Boiling Springs. He is, also, survived by two brothers, Tommy and wife, Connie of Boiling Springs, Bill and wife, Carolyn, of Ellenboro, and three sisters, Julia, Ginny, and Chris of Boiling Springs.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Keith McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends in the LEC following the service. Interment will be at Cleveland Memorial Park.
